The Academy of Plumbing Ltd was founded in 1994 by its managing director Terry Rayner who has over 30 years experience within the industry.

Since then the company has gone from strength to strength establishing itself as one of London’s largest independent emergency plumbing, drainage, and heating service-providers and their distinctive silver vans with the Academy logo are a familiar sight in London and the inner M25 region.

The recipe for the company’s success is simple explains Terry, ”It is because I have always emphasised service, or more precisely dedicated customer – service, and a competitive pricing policy that I can guarantee our competitors cannot match”

Furthermore in keeping with the Academy ethos we have always insisted our employees   take the fullest advantage of the educational and extra curriculum training opportunities-all fully under written by the company- from newly-recruited apprentices to senior management personnel.

Significant investment has also been made by the company in new technology which allows us to deliver a more efficient service to our customers, all of our service vehicles are fitted with C-Track satellite tracking devices which enables control-centre staff to monitor our engineers precise location at any given time. As The Academy of Plumbing Ltd was the first UK plumbing company to assure prospective customers a 2 hour attendance guarantee, hi-tech innovations such as this have enabled us to attend appointments on time, and minimize inconvenience to our customers.

All of The Academy’s engineers are issued with handheld Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) which enables us to streamline communications between the call-centre and plumbers, order any parts that may be required, and generally track progress of all works carried out etc…

When an Academy engineer knocks on your door, he, or she will be fully qualified and dressed in clean, smart, liveried uniform, and carry a company photo-identification card which further emphasises our commitment to offering a professional service to our customers.
All of this progress has been achieved from a humble start-up based in one room equipped with a table, telephone and type-writer and one second hand van, to a modern, fully staffed free-hold headquarters (pictured) a fleet of 40 service vehicles (which are changed every three years) and further cements our claim of being London’s premier emergency plumbing, drainage and heating service.

In conclusion, founder and managing director Terry Rayner affirms “It has always been my intention to drag plumbing into the 21st century and dispel the negative perception that the industry has been historically tarnished by. All of us here at The Academy will strive to honour that commitment to ourselves and our customers, and so to all those who have taken time to read about our company and wish to monitor our future growth and exciting plans for the future it remains only for us to state: Watch this space!
